LGAR MEDIA KIT -- This is a tactical and action-oriented kit created to help members and Circles contact their local newspapers, radio stations, or television networks to promote specific events or announcements. This is best for empowering individual members or Circles to actively promote their own events or projects in their hometown media.
LOCAL MEDIA OUTREACH KIT -- A media kit (also called a press kit) is a pre-packaged collection of promotional materials designed for journalists, bloggers, event organizers, and sometimes newspapers, television stations, radio stations, etc. It gives the media everything they need to understand and report on your organization or event. This is best for General PR, press inquiries, brand partnerships, sponsorships, national events, or responding to media interest.
Janice Stevenson
Sister Janice Stevenson proudly traces her eligibility for the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic to her great-great uncle, Mathias E. DeLong, a devoted soldier who served in the 51st OVI and the 11th Ohio Cavalry. Never married and without children of his own, Comrade DeLong's legacy might have faded with time, but Janice chose to join LGAR under his name so that his service, sacrifice and memory would be honored for generations to come.
A passionate genealogist and living history enthusiast, Janice is dedicated to preserving the stories of those who came before us. Over the years she has served in many LGAR Circle level offices including Circle President, and has provided steadfast leadership at the national level, serving as National Treasurer for seven years. She has also contributed significantly through her work at the LGAR National Museum and Headquarters, helping to safeguard our rich heritage and educate the public on the legacy of the G.A.R.
Beyond LGAR, she lends her talents as a board member for a nationally registered historic landmark and volunteers with the Serving Area Military Center in Ohio, supporting veterans and active-duty service members.
Janice's commitment to honoring America's defenders is deeply personal. She is the proud wife of an Army veteran and the equally proud mother of a current active-duty Army son. Her leadership in LGAR reflects her lifelong dedication to history, heritage, and service, always guided by the principles of Fraternity, Charity & Loyalty.
